Crabs trying to make me crazy!!!

So last night before bed my daughter was so excited to tell me that Ben had switched into a pearl banded turbo (turban?)...I was so excited and hoped that he'd stay in it this time.

This morning I go in to see that he switched back...or did he? Tiny's gold mouth turbo was now empty! Tiny & Ben are similar size & color so this was going to have to be a close up examination.

Hmmm...pick up the painted shell and the crab instantly clams up! Hello Tiny! Pick up the pearl banded shell, and the crab very nicely comes out to say hi....and tries to PINCH me! Hello Ben (or as I like to call him "Rebel with a claws").

I usually like to leave an original shell in for a day or two because I don't want to strand anyone, but since this shell seems to be a favorite should I just snag it, boil it, and clean it next time?

I....just....want....the....painted....shells....gone!!!![smilie=banghead.gif]

After a few minutes I generally can tell if they're going to stay. If they walk away from the shell I usually snag it, but it just depends. Especially with painted shells.

I snag the painted ones right away too........like the previous poster said I make sure they walk away and seem ok with it first

OK then...all the turbos & turbans are getting cleaned out and put in the tank tonight.

The painted shell will be mine...all MINE....muahhahahhah!

***AHEM*** sorry about that...I just want that out of there, plus I want to clean it off and see what's under there that everybody wants so much!
