I lost my teeny Ruggie and my new teeny PP to PPS. I've had them both less than a month.

I HATE PPS!

PPS is so tragic and horrible!!!!!!!!!

PPS: Post Purchase Stress. Hermit crabs go through tremendous stress before they're even at the pet store... being caught in the wild, a change in diet from fresh foods to commercial foods, having their shell painted, being shipped to the pet store, and then the pet store living conditions themselves, some better than others.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Between losses to PPS and bad molts, I don't know what to do anymore. Really sorry again, you are such a great caretaker so it seems. Sometimes things are just out of our hands.

Thank you everyone. PPS just makes me feel so helpless.

I love Es, I've had the same expereince with Ruggies, I've found them pretty fragile. I've had more Ruggie losses than straw losses. The one I just lost was not in good shape. Since the two newer ones are pretty healthy, if I lose them I won't be buying any more, I just don't take deaths very well, especially mysterious deaths.
