FMR is bad for hermit crabs. It has bad ingredients in it.
This is an interesting claim. While reading other posts on this forum, I see that most people on here feed their crabs fresh organic food.

While I think it is inarguable that organic foods in the right proportions would be ideal, are they inherently necessary? What is so bad about FMR? Only one ingredient in FMR is on the “Adulterants & Additivesâ€

Tonight my critters have thawed krill, grapes, kiwi, honey, cuttlebone/eggshells, carrots and yellow bell peppers. There's also an oak leaf being drug across the tank as I type. Silly crabs.

New recipes that my crabs liked:
Last night, I put a cube of frozen coconut milk with an equal portion of honey and mangrove meal and warmed it in the microwave until the mangrove was soft. Then I mixed in krill. I served it over lettuce. They really liked it.

Tonight there was some left, so I decided to reuse it. With my mortar and pestle, I crushed shelled, raw sunflower seeds, walnut, shelled hemp seed and eggshells into a powdery mixture. I mixed it with an equal portion of grated carrot and mixed all of it with the leftovers from last night. I topped it off with lettuce. It looks like another hit.

Shell 1: Steak, both raw and cooked on a bed of lettuce
Shell 2: Carrots, mango, and my home made peanut butter (It's YUMMY!!)
Also available are a small shell with honey with powered cuttlebone and eggshells mixed in. It's the only dang way I can get them to touch cuttlebone. There's still part of an oak leaf, and also a freshly picked Impatient flower.

Last I checked they were going at the home made peanut butter like a bunch of rabid crabs.

Tonight my partner went for a walk on a country road and found all sorts of edible treats for our crabs. We made them a little salad consisting of wild red raspberry leaves, wild strawberry leaves, white clover (flower), purple clover (flower and leaves), and daisy (flower). We also went grocery shopping and got a coconut to make a hut. The meat inside was actually ripe and fresh, so we added that to the mix along with some strawberry tops with some berry. All of this was minced into a colorful salad.

As an aside note, we found a mulberry, but were not sure if it is edible or not for our crabs. We decided not to include it with tonight's salad.

tonight's dinner for the crabs:

kibble shell: Narnar's fruit/nut kibble

two fresh shells: raw salmon and a crabby pretzel, made fresh tonight (I got the recipe from a great post that Narnar made on epicurean hermit, it uses whole wheat flour, honey, yeast, marine salf, and olive oil).
