Usually for the first few weeks it is best not to handle the new crabs after getting them other than to take care of there needs in the tank such as feeding scooping poop and changing water. The crabs up until the time you got them were stressed already from being caught, being shipped to the pet store, being handled by a gazillion people. So its no wonder they suffer from Post Purchase Stress. Leaving them alone for the first few weeks other than taking care of there most immediate needs will give them time to become acclimated to there new surroundings and new owners.
