Hi and Welcome.

Tell us a little about your crabs, how many what kind... and your tank set up... what size... how is it decorated... and/or whatever else you'd like to share with us.

Any questions... ask away.

Most of that's in chit chat.

Here's an official welcome to the HCA!

I only have one crab a purple claw. my tank size is 12 galons. i have used coral sand as a substrate and i had got a large peise of curio wood, its hollowed out so its a great tunnel and hiding place. i have a bowl for pellet food a bowl for fresh fruit a bowl for fresh water and not sure about a bowl for salt water..
i have been told to use aqua safe for there drinking water??? is that true?
i have also got bits of bark.
I have not got any lighting yet coz of the summer i was not sure about the amount of heat it would give out!!!!

Caz
P.s I have not named my pintchy yet any ideas :)

hey Caz! welcome to the HCA!

I like to name my hermies after some physical characteristic or something about their personality. and then some of them just pop into my head! Its perfectly okay to go without naming your crabbie for awhile until you find the perfect one.

have you thought about getting your hermie a buddy? despite their names, hermit crabs are quite sociable creatures who live in groups of up to 100 in the wild.

one suggestion: two of the most important things in any tank is the temp and humidity gauges. you can pick these up at a hardware store or a pet store. both need to be kept between 75 and 80 for your crab to thrive.

feel free to ask any questions you have!
