Post by Guest » Fri Jul 07, 2006 7:41 pm

well! I just got off the phone with a Quebecois lady that works for the Canadian Border Crossing place and she says there are NO restrictions on bringing pet hermit crabs across the border! Yay! SO now I just have to get enough money to make my day trip down to Erie and get myself some straws!!! yay! at least I got some good news today :) they do however have a restriction on mitten crabs... whatever those are.

They are a Chinese burrowing crab. They are showing up on the west coast of the US and are considered a threatening species to native crustaceans.

wow thanks for the info, no wonder they are restricted. Before I make my road trip I'm going to call the Niagara border crossing and double check with them, I'm also going to call Petco and make sure they have straws in stock :)
