DIY bridge/hidey
I have a box of 300 jumbo craft popsicle sticks that I use for a craft that I sell... Anyway, I was thinking about making a hidey for my crabs with some of the sticks. Does anyone know what kind of wood these sticks are usually made with, and is it safe to use with the hermies? I tried looking it up but I can't find anything informative.

Oh, and 100% acryllic white yarn. This will be killer climbing material if it's safe enough to give to them. I've tied a bunch of jumbo popsicle sticks together in a line, creating something that resembles those old hanging bridges with the rope and wooden planks. For stability, I'm tying to sticks on either end, which will be driven into the sand, creating a hidey/bridge combo. It's not done yet but if the idea works I'll show photos.

Ok, photo time. It seems to be a hit:
They aren't very high-quality photos because I took most of them through glass.
Does it look safe? They seem to like it.
It'd probably work better with non-jumbo sized sticks. I don't think my littler guys will be able to climb it. Actually, maybe I'll redo it someday with round sticks.

This yarn is entirely synthetic fibers so maybe I'll get lucky. If it does mold, I could replace it with some sort of acryllic cord. I still think it would've been better if I'd cut up some dowel rods, but I need those for my larger Ojos de Dios that I make. This was something I threw together without planning, but it at least seems like an idea that could go somewhere. Twigs from outside might even be neat to use. I'll redo it eventually. ^_^
