This is a good idea!
I have one recipe to share so far. My crabbies really enjoy it!
Jungle Joy
it's a mix of dried oak leaves (or whatever tree leaves are in your area), dried carrot, mealworms, honey, peanut butter, and a variety of different nuts. You can even add some egg shell or cuttlebone for added calcium.
It's simple, but it's good.

Here is the granola that my mom made for us when we were little (loooonng time ago) and my hermies love it (and it's good for humans too).
5 cups long-cooking rolled oats
1-1/2 cups wheat germ
1 cup powdered milk (you can leave this out if worried/allergic)
3/4 cup soy flour
1/2 cup sunflower seeds (raw, unsalted)
1/3 cup sesame seeds
1 cup safflower oil
1 cup honey
2 tsp vanilla
optional: 1 cup of unsweetened coconut and/or your favorite nuts (raw and unsalted)
Mix dry ingredients and wet ingredients together in separate large bowls, then mix all together thoroughly. Spread in two 9 x 13 glass pans and bake at 300 degrees about 35 minutes, stirring every 6 to 7 minutes to prevent scorching.
You can add dried fruits/raisins to it after it is cooled. It makes a lot, so store it in the fridge or freezer and it will keep for a long time.

That sounds pretty good, Katzeye!
My crabs really seem to like fish and whatever else I serve with it. That is why I call this Fish Boat.
Start off with one whole smelt/silverside. Cut it in half while it is thawed (or unthawed) so it is split in half vertically. This creates a nice platter to serve things on.
After the Fish Boat is set-up, it is up to you to put whatever you like on it. Carrots, coconut, nuts, honey, olive oil, cuttlebone, egg shell, shrimp, etc.
Top with a garnish of celery leaf or your crab's favorite fresh leaf.
It looks really nice (four-stars) and my crabs love it.

I thought it might be helpful to post my newest staple food (kibble). It also works great for short vacations, since it does not seem to be prone to mold.....
I really don't have the exact amounts of anything, because I just started mixing. I know it lists a lot of ingredients, but once made, it is a large amount & can be used as a staple food for an indefinate amount of time. Because it contains grains, seeds, fruits, vegetation, calcium, protien, and algea, it should meet most all of their needs. Also, since there are so many items in it, the hermies never seem to get tired of it....it is a wide dining selction.
Powdered cuttlebone
Oatmeal
Cornmeal
Millet
Wheat germ
Dried clover flowers & leaves
Red Raspberry leaf (dried)
Spirulina Powder
Kelp Powder
Hibiscus flowers (dried)
Powdered Pink Roses
Seaseme seeds
Sunflower seeds (unsalted of course)
Ground walnuts
Raisins
Dried Papaya
Dried Pineapple
Cranberries
Dried coconut flakes
Dried baby shrimp
Dried mealworms
Dried bloodworms
Coconut Oil
Palm Oil
Use just enough of the oils to moisten the food a bit. Don't over-do it.

I cook a small amount of rice with some crumbled nori in the microwave. The crabs really like it, and it goes faster than when Ive given them just plain cooked rice.
While I was on holiday, my friend who cared for our pets made Chinese sticky rice for them, and there was nearly a fight over it! The biggest crab kept taking the entire ball of rice and trying to hide it in the coco shell, and the little guys would run in to eat it. Apparently sticky rice is the bomb!

I'm actually trying sushi soon! It's a classic.
1 Nori Sheet
Raw fish, cut into strips
Rose petals (or other edible flower)
Oak leaf (or other edible leaf)
Apple, cut into strips (or other edible fruit)
Rice (crab edible)
Put down one Nori sheet and lay the cooked rice on the sheet. Place the oak leaves over that. Next, place the fish strips along the oak leafd and top with rose petals. Next, add the sliced apple. Roll into sushi cylinder ad cut into circles. Top with a pinch of cuttlebone--delicious!
