i can't tell if my crab is molting!!!!!!

Post by Guest » Fri Feb 22, 2008 10:58 pm

my tiny crab, Papaya, seemed to be molting because when i opened the cage this morning, i thought she was dead, but her body was thin and crispy. but because i thought she was dead at first, i picked her up BUT I SAW NO CRAB BEHIND THE EXO!!!!!!!! she was a tiny crab, but i her shell seemed too small to be able to hide her that well. maybe it's bigger than i think, but i don't know what's going on! her body seemed too crispy for her to be dead, but i can't see a crab in the back! she couldn't have left her shell because the exo was still in the front! she is in the tank with my other crab, Mango, still because i wasn't prepared for a molt!!! should i move her?? im soo confused!!!!!!!! please help!!!!!!!

Is her exo hollow? If not then your crab has passed on. :(

If the exo is hollow, she just surface molted. Cover her with a hidey or some warm wet moss.
Sending good hermie thoughts your way.
