Regenerated Legs
Wow Mokelele very nice regeneration you had there, that crab must be the happiest crab in the world right now, you took great care of it in its time of need and you should pat yourself on the back for that one, and as always your pics are wonderful and your crabbies are gorgeous...keep up the good work.

Thanks ... I cannot export hermies to the USA since I do not have export license. Some people can ... and for my consideration, it's a dilema actually. More export volume might reduce cost per hermit crab, but leads to extinction as well due to over-exploitation ( the harvesters never think about conservation since most of them from low social classes & uneducated ; just thinking about catching as much as they can ).Grammarcia wrote:

I don't know if someone asked you this before, but have you ever wanted to get your own "exotics"...in other words, do you want your own purple pincher C. clypeatus or a lemony-orange compressus??? heheheheMokulele_Hawai'i wrote: Thanks ... Yes for C.clypeatus. But unfortunately there has not been any pet store in the U.S. that can ship individual live animal items to other countries. And if so, I would also face difficulties in clearing the shipment here !MudCrabDude wrote:

So, what I consider as the most preferable effort to get other specimens that doesn't exist in Indonesian territory is by individually smuggling it ( like when i stuck 2 ryukyuan blueberries in my pocket during my flight from Narita to Jakarta ). Since I know exactly that land hermit crab I bring from outside will not disturb Indonesian environment, nor disturb other passengers during the flight - and I do not have any obligations to obey such crazy & complicated quarantine rules established by my government.
