Shiny finally came out. I caught him hanging out in the water dish. And guess what? He found a new pearly white shell that is more appropriate to his name. His legs seem very pale in color. I don't know if that is his natural color and it is just that the others we have are very red, or if molting made him whiter. Anyway we gave him some time out and about in the iso tank and then introduced him to the new tank which he seems to like.
peace,
ci
Shiny surfaced!!!

Congrats on the molt and shell swap!
The paleness may be due to a lack of proper nutrition... make sure he's being fed from all the food groups and he's getting plenty of calcium. You might want to check out the Food & Water section for some awesome recipes that the crabs love, and they're good for them too!

Congrats! It's so fun when they come up. Shiny looks great and I love the shell. Agree about the food. I feed tons of fruits and veggies - give them a big mix. I dump most of it because I change it out everyday and they eat so little but they have tons to choose from. Kathy's sticky in the Food and Water section is awesome! Some of the best foods I find in the aquarium stores/aquarium section.
In regards to color, I actually think the color will darken over the next few weeks as the exo continues to harden. Go you and your crabbies!!
