First Malt ever. Help!

Post by Guest » Tue Apr 01, 2008 1:08 am

I have had my 3 crabs, Spudly, Rez and Devily for about 3 weeks. These are my first hermit crabs ever. When i was picking them up for a bath i dug around for devily and found the shell and what i assumed to be a dead devily. After i threw what i now think is the exoskeleton out i realized that devily was still in her shell, but well hidden. I out her back into a section of the tank that i corned off and she is now coming out of her shell, but not walking or digging. I now know that they like to eat there exo's, will the fact that she wont be able to hurt her? Any other advice? Im panicking a little here. Thanks.

Okay, calm down. :) I think a good substitute for the exo is crushed cuttlebone mixed with honey. feed this to the crab, and hopefully it will help!! Don't handle her at all during this time, and make sure that the area she is in is very dark. I'm praying for your little crab! [smilie=luck.gif]

The molt was fine and devily is back to running around the tat. So now rezzy thinks its a great idea and has started to dig.
