I keep mine in the dining room at the new house. Pretty much it was the only corner in the house big enough for the 92g corner tank. Not really any other option. But it's still a good place, because you can see it when you come down the stairs, and it's by the front window so they get some ambient light. And it's near the kitchen so it's easy to feed them.
At the old house it was in the living room. Again, pretty much the only corner in the house it fit. Same deal there, it was kind of in between the kitchen and the front door, so it was easy to take peaks every time you walked by.
When I was a kid, it was of course in my bedroom. I can't think of any other place for a kid to keep their pet. I was in my bedroom most of the time, so I was constantly playing with them.
It's either got to be in the bedroom/office, wherever you spend most of your time. Or it has to be a part of the house, a piece of furniture that adds to the ambiance of the room and provides an ever interesting display of cuteness and antics.

so... ive decided to do my first deep clean and replace with all sand, i really like the way the sand looks and all of my molters have done it in the sand part of the tat.
I think it's good to put the tank where you'll see it a lot, because otherwise you don't notice their funny antics and all that, which really is part of the fun of keeping crabs.
