Boy Did I Get A Scare!

Peyton was always the slow one, so I always assumed he was older. I think it was May 6th when I looked at my tank and I saw a Hermit Crab lying on it's side, completely out of it's shell and barely moving. I thought he was dying. So I moved him to a different tank with fresh sand, went out and got a new coconut shell and put some different shells in there. But, I noticed, he was losing his limbs and regrowing. Long story short, he's bright pink looking now, lost all old limbs, regrew new ones, and is now back in his shell, althought I thought he would change shells, but he didn't. So, this was my first *cross fingers* successful molt!

I've never had a surface moult, but it must be both scary and vaccinating at the same time.

Good luck and I hope it never happens to you again.

Thanks...I hope it doesn't, too. It's very scary, but a learning expierence.
