well water

Post by Guest » Sat Jul 26, 2008 9:23 am

I am just curious...I have read alot here about not using city water due to chlorine, water softeners, etc which I understand. But what about well water? Our water is straight up out of the ground, no treatment except to remove sulphur and that is just an aerator setup. We have had it tested and the only thing wrong with it is that it is hard water which is calcium mineral. Hmmm... actually it might be "good" for the crabbies! :D

Distilled water has usually been stripped of any minerals etc and I know there are some things in water that the crabbies (and people) actually need. Alot of bottled water has been proven to be just "tap" water that companies bottle. So what do you think? :?:

And NO. I am not trying to "whack the hive"! :hlol:

Ok, time to let out my deep dark secret...

I use well water, no dechlorinater or anything. And have been using it ever since I started crabbing, my crabs drink and bathe in this water and nothing bad has ever happened. So, people go ahead and beat me up!

So, in my personal opinion, which is probably the exact opposite of others.. I say go for it! :D
