can you use sea salt to make the hermies salt water if not what kind :?: :?

Regular sea salt shouldn't be used because it is only salt and does not come with minerals and other elements that are with marine aquarium salt mix. :wink:

The best buy you can do is to go to a pet store and pick up Oceanic or Instant Ocean marine aquarium salt. Oftentimes, API Aquarium Salt is only for freshwater fish, which isn't salty enough. :)

I also do not recommend buying ZooMed or HBH conditioner. Those aren't good products (as most hermie-products aren't good for them!). :)

Not true. API can be used by following the directions for brine shrimp --> 8 tablespoons per gallon. Other members have tested the salinity. It's high enough using that ratio. Don't pay any attention to the freshwater aquarium directions.
