Yes, hermit crabs can eat dairy products, but only a little once a month.

Be sure that the cheese is organic. Regular cheese is made with milk that has antibiotics and hormones inside of it. It also has other stuff that is not hermit-crab safe (preservatives, salt, sometimes sugar). If you are going to feed cheese, be sure it's an organic variety found at a natural foods store. :)

Cheese won't kill them. Whether it's good for them is more unclear. There's a big 'ol debate on this issue at:

Kili, my guys get cheese and it's a HUGE hit in my tank. It's one of the few things I feed that will draw just about every crab out and into the food dish. :shock: I still limit it to once a month, but they eat it and they molt fine and seem happy as can be.

EDIT: And for those of you that know me, you'll understand this is a big deal that I even have the cheese for them. I don't consume dairy, but they like it so much that I buy it for them once a month.
