How to Grow Moss, EASY AND FUN

I've heard that you can use real moss from your backyard, so in Science class, we made a green house gas house out of a 2L bottle. I put moss in it never thinking about the hermies LOVE moss, after about a month the moss grew to 1/2 inch> yeah!!

instructions

1: get a 2l bottle
2: cut of the top (were it start to round to the top)
3: get dirt/ with worms meal worms/ rock put rocks at bottom
4: find moss, put in the dirt, wait about a month or how ever long
5: take moss out and use it!

the moss you find in your backyard/wood, i haven't put it with the Hermie's though.

Unfortunately, I live in Texas, so theirs no moss unless I go into the woods to find the creek.

hmmm, well if you go to petsmart, they sell moss that is for reptiles, that is the same thing, just safe, ifs made by T-rex and is 4$ and you get alot of moss to use

where do you put the moss at? Is it like the sand I have for them? I live in Texas too, so Petsmart is where I would have to go.

Usually, moss is placed into a "moss pit", which is usually a shower caddy that sticks to the sides of the tank. :)

you can put a shower caddy in the tank...it wont hurt them??

Well, it should be a plastic shower caddy - no metal. :wink: It's the clear kind with suction cups.

Tons of people use them! :) They're a very popular addition to crabitats. :D

Isn't there a place where you can buy Moss seeds or something? that's be great for backgrounds if you use those Foam walls....
