Yes ... from the frontal shot it looks like a
C.purpureus. You're correct, it's a
C.purpureus.
I also had similar hermit crab here - a fully grown ruggie that has reached the size of medium strawberries or blueberries. Some
C.rugosus do not have any black "tears" or eye-smudge under the eyestalks.
