Walnut hermit food bowl

These work really well, especially if you don't want to waste room on a huge food dish. First you gotta get some of those whole walnuts and crack it in half just right. Get the nut out and stuff and clean in the sink. Let it dry while you get a hot glue gun and glue together stones to create a kind of stone pillar that you will fit onto the bottom of the walnut shell using more hotglue. Sticking this in the substrate prevents the herms from knocking the bowl over and spilling their food everywhere. And it takes up very little space. It really works well, i have been using mine for a while now. You will have to replaced them eventually though.

Very inventive....a great way to be able to have additional "bowl" in the crabitat without taking up alot of room :)

I love that idea! Then for a larger tank you could have a few small feeding stations in different spots. I didn't know you could use a hot glue gun for in the tank. Ive been using aquarium sealant for stuff that I made but a glue gun would deffinately be cheaper

What a cute idea. I'm going to crack a walnut in half and then let them eat it . I just don't know about cleaning it. should I clean a walnut before letting them eat it?
