Will he be able to dig out?

Post by Guest » Sun Jan 30, 2011 4:46 pm

One of my crabs has finished molting. He left a window under the tank so I can see exactly where he is. The exo is almost gone. He hasn't touched the remaining bits in days, so I keep expecting him to come up. He's definitely alive (I've seen him move).

However, he's below a cork log AND the bottom of a cholla log. I guess he tunneled his way under there, but I think another crab dug down nearby at one point, so I'm not sure if the original tunnel still exists.

Will he be able to dig/find his way out? There's seriously a lot of stuff over him. I guess I could mov it, but I worry about disturbing any other molting crabs, 1 of them is totally MIA and I have no idea where he is.

He'll be able to find his way out. I've had crabs dig under at one end of the tank and resurface on the other side. I'm sure in the wild they dig under objects and come up below them all the time. Most likely he'll just dig up to the log and then tunnel around it.
