Your tank is simply amazing. There really is no other word for it. I wish we could all do something like that for our crabs. Yours are truly luck.

mini *update*
lol I actually thouught it would be a big pain to clean, but currently I just lightly scoop out poops that I see on surface and dump them in the planted area(on the very left corner) to be used as a fertilizer. The plants are mostly sand mixed with worm casting that I bought in bulk from this organic farm that were fed only in grains.
As for shell station, I am in a process of turning a plastic tray with decorative rocks(to make it look more blended in with the scape).
as for shells, oh my, does anyone need small- to medium sized shells? I bought them in bulk from shell horizons(yes I know, they have min of $50), and after picking out the ones I need, I have SOO MUCH left over. I will post them in classifieds if anyone wants them. I guess it can be free+flat rate shipping with as much shells I can fit into them..
I really LOVe the set-up: its right next to our dining table. And because the sand level is same as our eye level, we can literally watch them without causing a chaos. We eat, and sometimes find ourselves *staring* at the tank, hermit crabs eating, and drinking, and climbing. This is BIG change from what it used to be: 55g /40g tank were set up in a second bedroom, and no one ever walked in, except for me to change water, or to put out food, etc. And when I walked in, the hermit crabs usually freak out from me walking in, and run away from whatever they were doing.. so I never got to really enjoy them!! Now I do, and both myself and DH just stand or sit at the table, and watch the cute creatures that they are..... what a change!.

Wow!! The background is perfect.
But I think the sand is not too deep enough for moulting.......
