just bought it to go in our large fresh water pool. we had gotten a the tetra fauna turtle waterfall but it had this horrible plastic smell so we returned it and bought this one. We like the look, we are still working on it, the problem is when we put it in our pool, the sucker floats!! Currently working on weighting it down.

I tried to use one one time. It was a hand-me-down from my step brother's beardy. It was WAY too bulky for even my 55 (just not an efficient use of space for smaller tanks), and the pool at the bottom is very shallow. The bottom pool also made me nervous about small crabs becoming trapped, as it's kind of a tight fit for even them if they try to wiggle in down there.
Also, the tubing/pump was a bit flimsy. I was constantly battling with it.
Ended up just throwing it out. But it worked well for the beardy.![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

I have one, but I don't use it as a waterfall; I found it created too much humidity for my 20 gallon long tank, to the point where the glass was always dripping with moisture and the substrate around the waterfall was super waterlogged. I filled it with moss and saltwater and use it as a big moss pit/climbing toy for the crabs now. I call it my "mosserfall" ;-D So be aware that it may create too much humidity for you if your tank is on the smaller side!
We have one in our tank. We built a plexiglass pool that is 5 inches deep and 13 inches square that it sits in. We have filled the bottom of the waterfall with large river rocks so water can still be pulled through but crabs cannot be trapped. We had to velcro it to the bottom of the pool because even with the rocks on the second and bottom level it still wanted to float. Once we got all that worked out it has worked beautifully. The crabs LOVE it. There is always at least one crab on it, even during the daylight hours. The only draw back is it does take a lot of space to use. We just bought a larger tank so it won't be an issue soon. I had to remove my plexiglass lids and put the screen lid back on with the plexiglass on top of them to get the humdity right.
