Is silicone boil-proof?

I'm thinking about using silicone to make a ramp of rocks down into my salt and freshwater pools. Currently, to clean these pools, I take the pools out and boil them. I figure that's a good, safe way to clean everything.

I wonder though, will boiling water undo the silicone? Anyone know? Thanks!

Nope, never tried boiling them. I saw your post yesterday though and boiling does seem like it may be the answer I need for my stubborn non-curing pools.

Medical grade (like tubing) and food grade (think baby bottles) silcione can be boiled to be sterilized. However, I'm not sure if aquarium silicone or hardware silicone is rated to that kind of heat. If it were to melt it would be a mess, and if there was anything harmful to humans in the actual caulk and it got onto a food pot that could be dangerous as well.

I'm not sure I'd risk it without more information!

How would you guys suggest I sanitize that then, if boiling is risky (as I thought it may be)?

ask some the manufacture the heat ranges of the silicone and about boiling it, if anyone would know they would ^^
