Sure sounds like a normal, healthy crab to me...I swear, they're just like teenagers, with shells!

I usually crush their heads before putting them in the habitat.

I put a still chirping cicada in the other day; they just stared at it like it was a bizarre zoo exhibit... :D Mighty hunters my crabbies. :D

I went outside my house and plucked one from the side of a tree.

I'm not sure if they would attack live crickets... They might sit and stare at them until they died, then eat them... :)

Large or small, no difference. :) Freeze-dried would be fine, too. :)

I give it to them dry; the humidity in the tank moistens the seaweed after several hours.

SoulEater...I guess then I"m not the only person awake and staring at the crabs in the middle of the night. :)

Hermicrabitat21, I'm extremely new to crabbing but with my picky children and crabbies I've learned it's all about variety...keep offering as many different choices as you can; they'll get what they need, and you'll learn what they like.

On another note, King Henry VIII, has been eating peanut butter and honey off a toothpick for me this weekend. Once, he even reached up, grabbed the toothpick, and pulled it down for better access! :D
