So this is him before his molt:
And afterwards:
Still won't change shells. Grr.
I think with that beady little new eye and that beat up shell I'll be changing his name to Garrus.

So I'm going to admit that I am pretty much laughing hysterically at how silly he looks with that one tiny eye!! But I am very happy to see he's recovering so well. Hope you keep us all updated on the progress from molt to molt.

Aw, thank you!Brooksrjones wrote:Kuza if anyone could find out it's crab-whisperer Wode
I really can't tell if he can see out of that eye, or if he can really see anything at all from either of them. I keep thinking that his other eye looks abnormal and swollen and red in comparison. (I'm pretty sure it's okay, it just seems off somehow.) I notice that he never stares at me head-on with the intact eye - only the little one seems to be looking at me when I talk to him. (Not that he can understand me when I talk to him, but every other crab I have that comes out will stare at my face when I make noise by talking to them.)
Wolf - I had a serious giggle fit when I pulled him out and saw it. I was just happy as a clam that he made it through his molt as most of the ones I got at Christmas didn't. When he finally popped out and I saw that glossy little button, I about died laughing, probably from pure shock and the relief that he was really really okay, not just okay okay.
I am a little concerned that he may have shrunken though. That shells seems like it fits him better than before. I really need to track down a bigger tulip shell for him, but for one - I don't think they grow larger, and for two - I haven't seen any commercially available that are that thick and sturdy.

little eye still works, my friend has a crab like this, he has difficulty deciding which shells would be fitting for him, his depth perception is off
You've got it all wrong....we are the pets, not them!
