They can also eat cooked beef and love cornbread and cereal (such as cheerios)

They may love the cheerios and they are probably fine very occasionally, but the sugar (and probably other things) aren't good for them.

I don't recommend them unless you are absolutely out of ideas. I was once and I fed mine multi-grains and they went crazy for them LOL

How about forsythia flowers and/or leaves? They are in bloom right now and I was wondering, but don't want to take the chance until I know.

I tried Quince from my backyard thinking they would go nuts and it didn't get touched. If they don't want it, they just won't eat it. :)

I don't remember where I saw it, but I heard Safflower oil was good/safe for them and I just wanted to double check.

Shells would be fine if they were grown without pesticides. :)

I have seen on several occasions that peppermint is bad for crabs, but most other types of mint are fine. We have some sort of mint growing in our backyard, but I don't know what kind it is. Anyone know how to tell the difference?

I have sweetened applesauce but it's all natural... Is it ok?

What are the ingredients? I have bought unsweetened applesauce that the only ingredient was apples. If it is sweetened, it makes me think that it has added sugar or corn syrup.

It's all out of apple and apple juice. Says its sweetened with apple juice concentrate.

Yes, if no seasonings. Organic and grass fed preferred, but I understand that's not a choice for everybody. Just don't know the consequences of all the added hormones and steroids of CAFO cows.
