You are doing such an amazing job!!! And they really do look like they are hardening. This is so cool to watch!!! First thing my kids asked when we got the crabs was "Can we raise babies?!" Of course I said NO WAY! Then we come across this a week after my NO and they both looked at me and said "WELL?" it's still a no in this house, I couldn't do the amazing job you are doing and that Wode is about to take on any day now. Your both AMAZING!!!!

Now OFF SUBJECT: I just gotta know (I am a camera addict) which camera do you have and what lens are you using? I am on the hunt for a SLR or more professional camera. I like my Kodak point and shoot but honestly it's to the point it feels more like a throw away type to me now. I shoot peoples weddings and things and need a professional type or almost professional type and yours looks like it would fit the bill! You can email me if you'd rather not post it here. (I've researched so many SLR's I don't know which way to go)

Thanks. :) I'm super excited for wodesorel's. It will be neat to see another person stressing over babies! In a non-mean way of course. :P If that makes sense.

I'll pm about my equipment you because I'll probably write a long paragraph. I tend to ramble about camera stuff.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one stressing over shells.

I really am worried I don't have any tiny enough. Are you positive on the size they'll need? They are so teeny... Do you think I would be better off ordering this instead? http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/p ... atid=16765

I can only estimate based on their size right now, and I'd say they need about a 2-3mm shell opening. I think anything you can get your hands on will be good if you're worried. If any of us succeed in this endeavor this year, I'm going to work my butt off to get anybody with babies tiny shells. I'll collect as many as I can while I'm in Juneau for next year.

if you guys need any extra tiny shells just let me know =) I have zillions from my crushed coral bag I use on the hermits second story. (They love that stuff. Or maybe it's the fact it's just above ground. But they like digging into it lolz). I will boil them and everything since they are powdery. I didn't realize how much work goes into checking out the shells and such. I'm constantly amazed at how hermits change and find shells the way they do. I also like how some marine ones decorate.

Keep us posted =) Can't wait to hear more! They look amazing!!!!

Just finished my *huff* first solo *puff* water change. :faint:

That is NOT easy to do by yourself holy crap. My arms are going to fall off from lifting the buckets of water. My husband told me that before I left, I should do one water change by myself just to see what he would have to go through every day (and make sure it was even possible for one person). It's possible, but I had to use my teeth at one point.

And I only spilled maybe half a liter of SW on the carpet! :D It's hard to watch two ends of the tube at one time.

Babies are well I think. I'll get some pics tonight if I can. It's going to be a busy day today for me. My husband's bday is tomorrow and I totally spaced on getting him anything. :( I feel like a bad wife. Maybe I'll build a lego set with him.

Since he's into Legos and you have the store, maybe you can find free online build instructions for something that might be of interest to him and build it from your stock. Doesn't have to be large...it's the thought that counts. :D I found some cool Lego Christmas ornament patterns this past year and made myself an ornament.

We're going to build a castle set on the weekend I guess. It's what he wants to do. :)

Got some baby pics. :)
Most are in stage 5. Also, you can see the green tinted ones...those are the ones consuming a lot of spirulina. :D
