WE APOLOGIZE FOR THE DELAY. OUR SHIPMENT OF HERMIT CRABS HAS BEEN DELAYED BY OUR SUPPLIER. DUE TO A HOLIDAY IN THEIR COUNTRY, THEY ARE ON VACATION UNTIL THE 27TH AND WILL THEN BOOK A SHIPMENT DATE. CRABS WILL NEED TO DE-STRESS AND WILL NOT SHIP IMMEDIATELY. DUE TO THE DELAY, ANY PENDING ORDERS OR ORDERS PLACED BEFORE THE CRABS ARE IN STOCK WILL RECEIVE A FREE CRAB AS A THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE. DUE TO INCREASED DEMAND, WE ARE NOW TAKING PRE-ORDERS. ALL LIVE ORDERS WILL BE SHIPPED IN THE ORDER THEY ARE RECEIVED.  THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE.

Thank you,

Hi Brian

Our shipment from overseas has been delayed by our supplier. We were expecting the shipment by the end of July, now we're looking at another 2 weeks or so. Once they are in we will determine if they are healthy enough to ship or if they need to destress. We would be happy to send an extra crab at no charge to thank you for your patience.

Thank you,
Live Hermit Crabs

Just to let you know my order reaches its 2 week mark tomorrow and have yet to hear anything from you. I don't care if it takes 4 weeks to get my crabs but the fact I haven't heard anything about my order and no responses to emails is what bothering me. I will be filing with PayPal within the next week if I don't hear anything. I don't mean to sound rude but I don't have the money to just throw away and nothing in return.

We all have to practice patients due to molting, but what y'all are dealing with is just crazy. I mean I know there can be delays and such, but you can't have a delay this long due to 1 day of holiday in the country they are coming from.

It's too bad there isn't somewhere else you can order from to get the exotics. (I hear the Patch only has PP's and E's) I have it hard to believe that she only has the one supplier. But that is just me.........maybe someday it will be different.
PP's-George Strait, Sebastian, & Clyde
E's-Toby Keith, Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton

Followed by 3 days of festivities, followed by a week in Shawwal (Muslim calendar). I know since it's my holiday as well :). But business is business, and they should have had better communication amongst each other coupled with posting that info on the LHC website

Thank you. We’ll email you when the seller responds. If the seller does not respond, your dispute will automatically close on Oct 1, 2012 unless you escalate it to a PayPal claim. Don't worry; we'll email you a reminder before the dispute automatically closes. Please note that when you escalate a dispute to a claim, you're asking PayPal to review the case and decide the outcome.

I finally filed with Paypal. Sigh.

So I asked for an update... this was her response:

I called my supplier last night. Interesting as he doesn't really speak English lol. He said he should be able to ship Tuesday! Fingers crossed!!! Slight issue... May not have blues to send me. Im pretty peeved about that. But we will see what he comes up with by Tuesday. Maybe you could post for me on the HCA? :)

Then I got a second email that said this:

Thanks. I'm sure the majority of my orders are HCA members. Just want to try to keep everyone in the loop. I am going to be offering a 50% off next order of crabs for anyone who keeps their order as a thank you for their patience in delay of responses and shipment.

Am I the only one that thought is was weird she asked me to post to HCA???? hmmm- starting to feel a little uneasy 'bout the whole thing.
DEFINITELY weird! Why does SHE not have an account on here in the first place  I ordered two blues as well, and was really looking forward to those. She better not mess up with the refunds that's all I know. I've already filed with Paypal like I said but since I got my E's from Tammy, I'm less P.O'd
I'm uneasy as well. This is very unprofessional. She should be sending out e-mails to all her customers with updates. I will NEVER give her my business no matter what. The first time I ordered from her back in 2010, it went okay even though the E's were so stressed and despite the fact that they arrived LIVE, they really didn't thrive afterwards. Lesson learned. I am contacting her about my blues then. Thanks for the update Parrothead.

Good for you!
& I do not mean that sarcastically.

A business should always remain professional. The lack of communication by itself should be enough to make anybody wary of ordering from LHC. If she was having issues with her supplier, the least she could have done was put a notice up on the site (I know she eventually put one up, but she went quite a while without telling anyone anything). Leaving so many people in the dark is bad for business.

Do you still have those Es?
I didn't have any luck with the crabs I ordered from her earlier this year. In fact, I only have one left and I am certain that is through no fault of my own. I went by the "book" with these guys since they were exotics and I knew they were not as hardy as PPs. Still, I tried to contact her about it and she has ignored me for months.

Definitely not doing business with her ever again.

I hope everyone who does get crabs from her gets them in good health and that everything goes over smoothly.

No I do not, they went down and never came up :( . And I know it was not me since I have ALL of my original crabs :)
