UGH! Im sitting in my 8am english lit class- quite literally restraining myself from checking my emails on my phone....

Um, isnt today Columbus day???? And wouldnt that prevent ANYTHING from being sent via mail???? Even prepared for shipment?

I am nervous TOOOOOOO !!!! All the 'what if's' keep stressing me out!!!!! I have never seen a wild crab mite- Im really nervous about this.

AND! I have 5 molters coming up right now (they all went down together but they are all coming up on thier own and randomly!!!) So Im quite consumed with baths and body checks!

I went to the store today for chicken hearts... For crabby menu items...(cheap and they love 'em) and all they had were chicken livers. While the idea of eating a liver really grosses ME out- like what the liver main purpose is for! BUT that is usually a clue that it will be mighty tasty to a crab... have you ever done LIVERS opposed to hearts?

Jenny I don't know how you managed to not check your email lol. I really hope that she spent today getting her boxes and such ready for shipping. Temps here are already in the 30's at night this week, some 40's, so fingers are extra extra crossed for y'alls crabs! I hope to find 2 E's tomorrow at Pet Supplies Plus, but not holding my breath.

Mine are all down except for a PP and an E but i think even he went down. That makes 7down and 1 up. I think its bc the newbies all went down so that triggered the old ones.

Blah, I know! My Dad's side of the family ate those.... I just can't stomach the thought.... Both my husband and I are vegetarians.... That doesn't mean our animals are though I can find all kinds of fun stuff for them.

Ps.... I have not been able to stop watching for the little red msg light.... Blink once for : I'm on my way! Blink twice for :totally ignored!

How long have you had yours? It depends. If they are new and from the pet store AKA bad conditions, then they are de-stressing or molting. If you're like me and you've had them for a while, it's just what crabs do! May take weeks. It's actually cool cause then they all molt at the same time and then they are up for a long time

We got them in June, and little by little have upgraded the crabitat. My guess is that we finally have it right so they are going in! lol Only one, the small one has molted. She must be feeling more like herself because I am seeing her a lot lately.

I wanted to add more substrate to one side of the crabitat (right now it's mountainous). Should I wait until they start to surface or can I add on the side where no one is hanging out?

I have added more substrate to mine with guys down under. When I do it, I mix it up outside the tank and add a little at a time. I'll sprinkle an inch or so over the top and let the crabs pack it in. I don't want to risk packing it in too tight and making it harder for my guys to get out (of course, I'm not 100% sure they would even have trouble, but I'd rather be safe than sorry).
