but does it lose it's air content for them to breath well, or do they absorb the Oxygen from the H2O molecule itself?

Yes, it will off-gas, so you'll need to aerate it again with a bubbler or something. It's the Oxygen that's dissolved in the water that they need, which is why water creatures need filters to aerate the water (the act of it pouring in to the tank does this), and why overstocked tanks do better with a bubbler.

And yes, treated water at room temperature that is left stagnant can grow some really nasty bacteria that comes from the surrounding air. There's a reason that chlorine is put into tap water! Remove that, and you've got a giant room-temperature petri dish to grow all kinds of things. 24 to 48 hours isn't going to hurt them, but it's not a great idea to leave it for long periods.

3 left :(

And the momma has been doing laps around the tank top and bottom, so she's about to drop her eggs. I suspect tonight or tomorrow. So I'll have to have 2 tanks going for a bit since the 3 left aren't in shells yet. Some shell shopping but nothing long enough to move tot he transition tank.

Arrrg, I known how it feels to lose one after another. :(

But you still have 3! And it's your first try. So after 3 or 4 weeks, that's very good!

*fingers still crossed*

About the food. Are you looking for algae pellets for the megalopa?

I use this one: http://dennerle.com/de/index.php?option ... ent&id=642
It is basic food for shrimps and crabs
Basic feed for shrimps and crabs

Sinking feed pearls for a biologically balanced diet.
Water-stable, no clouding effect
It sink to the floor very fast. And it stay 'in form'. Sorry I can't describe it ;)
the megalopa ate it and all of my other LHC love them, too. The adult and the breedings.
Love sincerly,

lol pretty much, 3 jars of megalpa, 3 jars of zoea... I'm now cleaning out 2 of my old 10 gallon tanks to separate it all. The 29 gallon is too tall to work with. Ugh, so much work to do today!

Kuza, what was the fish food you were looking for? I seem to be able to find a wide selection at big als.
Current hermits: About 17 PPs and 3 straws (for now)
A 180-ish gallon tank with two 36 gallon extenstions!
What can I say? I love crabs!

I found a bunch at big al's too but nothing like the Marine master stuff NAT has shown me. At big al's they are all loaded with stuff that's not only not required, but not safe.

Oh no! Well, I hope you can find something just like it. Small specialty stores are always a good place to look. :D
