That's an awesome surprise! I bet they loved it! What is a crabmas post? Well sadly I didn't have any money left to buy my crabs anything for Christmas but they have received a couple new presents now. It's hard because three of my crabs are molting and now Rocky is acting like he wants to molt cause all he does is dig and stay buried. Yesterday I bought my crabs a 29 gallon tank and some dried krill and last night Hermie (the only non molting crab) was chowing down on the krill. So hopefully when the others come up they will love it just as much. I am going to have to try the chilies one of these days! My crabs still don't eat much but I am guessing it's because they are too busy molting. I also bought a new crab yesterday, she is so tiny and cool! She is the size of a snail shell and has the same shell as Rocky but smaller. The kids named her Super Baby Mckenna lol We were watching her climb all around this morning, she is very feisty and fast. Remember how you said Herc was fighting with another one of your crabs? Well I guess last night Rocky was stomping his feet and ran over to Hermie and flipped the poor thing over and was trying to get her out of her shell. I wonder if they were fighting over food or something, but I guess eventually he left her alone. I felt bad because Rocky is ten times bigger than Hermie. Crabs

They are funny lil things aren't they lol. No Herc wasn't fighting he was doing this odd lil dance lol. I really think it is because he is in love with Bat Girl lmao he does that and she just gives him a funny look and walks away. They all get along great tho. He does tend to stalk her tho lol. She just runs and buries herself if he gets to annoying. That what I love about HCA is it doesn't take a lot of money cause I don't have much either atm ><. Hoping that it will get better soon after our move which is approaching fast ><. Still a lot of work to be done yet to lol. It is getting there tho. Here is the post I was talking about :)
http://www.hermitcrabassociation.com/ph ... =3&t=97134. Just wondering if everyone's hermies got a special treat even if it was a meal or something lol. Hope your new girl stays out n about and that her and Rocky can get along. Keep an eye on them he might be saying "hey I am boss" or trying to shell kick her so keep an eye out. :) Good luck.

Ooh maybe it wasn't Herc, I'm sorry I can't remember which one it was that you were talking about that was fighting  Awww that's cute that he tries to flirt! What a lil' devil! Lol I hope one day she warms up to him! Yeah I have to move in a few months and it's gonna suck. Good luck with your move! Lol yes I do remember seeing that post. I really was going to get my crabs some special treat but then I just got too frustrated with money and forgot. Poor things :( Haha okay I will keep an eye out. Luckily with this bigger tank they have more room to run away and hide from eachother. I put a paper towel tube in the tank for McKenna to hide in. Rocky is the biggest so I am assuming he is going to play boss. He was playing king of the mountain on one of their huts yesterday lol Good luck to you as well :)

Lol Herc did that when I first put him in with the others, silly boys :p. Reese and Ms. Hearts are a sweet couple but Bat girl is still looking at Herc like a nut lmao. If you saw that dance you prob would to :hlol:. I have never seen that before. I think once she gets a lil bigger she might idk she seems to like Cid tho -.- lol Hermie drama apparently lol. Will have to find him a gf his size at some point :P. I think hubby gave up on the limit for the moment just cause we agree that we don't want to stress any new crabs out with a move on top of a new home. Lol tho he is liking them more and more and wants straws to I am sure I will be addressing the limit talk yet again in the future :P. He gives them water and watches them more now so that is a plus, he is getting closer to them lol.

Lol yeah Hermie drama is right. I felt bad for her yesterday because she was in the cave minding her own business and Rocky just crawls his massive bulk right over, digs around some in the cave, and then climbs over her again very slowly and just kinda sits on her and then slowly crawls out. All you could see was poor Hermie's legs sticking out of her shell and Rocky is so much bigger than her that there was nothing she could really so about it. Haha yeah I would probably think they are pretty nutty if I saw that! That's cute how they are pairing up! You may have a Jerry Springer episode going on there  After I got Mckenna I told my boyfriend that I wouldn't get anymore but I don't think that's going to be true 8) Awww that's good that he is getting closer to them. My boyfriend just kind of looks at them funny and says, "What the heck are they doing now?". Lol not really an animal person but if he had to do something for them he would.

Lol yea he used to say that to. Trying to figure out what crazy thing they were up to next. Herc atm is reminding me that his food bowl is yet again empty ><. Lol it is Friday and on Friday he gets apple slices with his coconut, banana, and carrot so he stares at me until he gets em lol. Friday is the Apple slice added so he knows when its coming :p. They are up to a total of 4 bowls now 3 lil ones and 1 med size. I think when I get them in their huge tank I am going to take their current fresh water bowl and use that for a food bowl. Its long, wide, and I can load them up lol. Oh his new thing is sitting in the water and kicking it all out of the pool so I have to refill it and he can run around the bowl like a crazy boy kicking it all over again o.0 I mean what is that lol. It is as if he is saying Oh its party time and going nuts lol am starting to think I over did it on the vitamins last feeding or his is just one huge nut ball lmao. I think I found him a shell idk until I get it tho I may have over done the size. It is hard to tell from a pic but it is a pretty almost baby blue turbo. It is a jade but the color is just so pretty I think he will. This is it:
Image

 Can't wait til it gets here and he sees it. So far I over sized the other shells to much he couldn't use them just yet tho he has future shells. This one I hope that he will take to if not I guess the search will continue -.-. It is hard to find a moon shell his size atm I guess, I've looked and most ppl are sold out others are so expensive. I hope that he takes to this one tho. Lol if he don't do it quickly tho Reese will move his lil butt into it shell n all like he did with the other one lol. No one was allowed to touch that shell lol why he needed to have 2 shells is beyond me.

Lol your crabs are so funny!! I love hearing about their antics :) That shell is really pretty! It does look pretty big but I don't know how big Herc is. I would love to see crabs acting all crazy. He might be saying "Haha in your face, ma!". Yeah I think that he is seeing how important these crabs are to us and now he is asking who is who but that's it for now. Maybe later on he will be like your hubby I hope! Lol that's cool that they know what's coming. Rocky is the only one that really eats a lot right now and all I leave for them is grapes, mangos, and krill. That's a lot of bowls! I bet it's fun feeding them all of the time though, I would have a blast! I think he's just a nut ball :) I had a nice surprise when I got up this morning. Hermie Jr. has been buried for about two or three months and he finally showed his face this morning  As soon as I saw him I scooped him up and checked out his new exoskeleton and I was so happy that he had finally finished his molt. Two successful molts, now waiting on one more! I put Hermie Jr. in their new big tank and he absolutely loves it. He has been climbing and exploring all day and drinking the salt water. I'm glad he's happy :D

Congrats! Isn't it funny how much energy they have after a long molt lol. Reese is still crazy every night. I now am regretting putting in vines for them to climb lol. Reese thinks he is Tarzan and swings from them about giving me a heart attack! I am so worried he is going to hurt himself and now the girls are following suit. This seems fun for them, so not for me cause I hold my breath until they are of it ><. They really do fling themselves around and swing on them. I think I have mental crabs lol. They are crazy. Cid has disappeared tho idk if he is molting or not. Will watch again for him tonight. Lol if he isn't he will grace the food bowl tomorrow cause its apple day lmao. Him n Herc love Fridays. PP's are just so crazy lol.

Oh my god that is just plain awesome! I am going out and getting vines for my crabs now! :) Lol I would be scared too. I get scared sometimes seeing them climb and fall but they are kind of like cats....except instead of landing on all fours, they get lucky enough sometimes to pull back into their shells before they hit the ground. Rocky has disappeared to and has made himself a nice burrow underneath their big salt water bowl. I hope he can get out. Mmm apple day! :) Mental crabs are fun! McKenna scared me last night because I got up to go to bed and she had all of her legs sprawled out against the glass and I could only see them and not her shell and she is so small that I actually thought that she was a spider in their tank lol *shudder* Good luck with Cid :)

Lol yea Herc has spider'ed out on me too :P. Cid is still missing >.> not like him to miss a meal so he must be molting lol. Mine like to tunnel under the water bowls to but be careful of swamping cause mine just did that >< they or I am sure I should say Herc upset the water bowl n flooded the place so I am worried about Cid even more. Hope that it didn't affect his molt or hurt him. Speaking of his big butt is in comping again lol. Lol Hubby said as I was feeding them for a second time last night "I thought they didn't eat a lot" lmao. I always seem to get the chow hounds *eyes my 35lb cat*. Lol he is a big boy too :P. I miss my one cat tho he was so big that people thought I had a small panther lol everyone jumped when they saw him lol. He was the biggest sweetie to. Oddly enough tho Herc really reminds me of him sometimes to lol. Same loving traits and actions.Reese bout made my heart stop today >< he was swinging so hard on the vine he flung himself into the moss pit, ugh that crazy kid lol. I am worried he will hit the glass one night, they do at least once a night bang on it but he was swinging pretty hard. Is this just my odd ball crabs or do other people notice their crabs doing these crazy things, lol? Boys are just plain crazy in all forms lol. My son is just as crazy sometimes and they are still kid crabbies lol. Reese being the smallest atm and Herc just sits on him like he is hatching an egg lol. I often wonder if it is Herc's way of calming him cause since his molt he is like a child with a sugar high lol. Is your smallest the same?

Holy crap a 35 lb cat?! That's insane! Lol. I had a pitbull that was almost 100 lbs but that is the biggest pet that I have ever had. Even thought pits have a very bad reputation, she was very sweet too <3 I would love to have a nice big friendly cat! :) Oh geez I never thought of flooding! I better go check to make sure his little dug out is okay. I haven't seen them flood it yet but I am sure they must displace some water. My crabs still don't eat a whole lot. I hear mine banging against the glass a lot too. Poor Reese, stay safe buddy! I haven't really noticed my crabs act that crazy but my tank is kinda boring. I have stuff for them to climb on but nothing real interesting like vines. I have seen Rocky hanging off of the bridge by one leg before lol Herc is being a daddy! I have only had Mckenna for not even a month so she hasn't totally come out of her shell yet. I don't see her come out too often, hopefully she's not intimidated by the other crabs. I was so excited last night. Before I went to bed I saw B.J. in the shell shop and he picked a shell and I got to watch him move into the new shell. Then his old shell fell out of the shell shop and he had such a hard time maneuvering himself and this new shell out of the shop and onto the ground. He must've got ticked off or didn't like the shell because then he moved right back into his old shell and I got to see him with no shell at all. I'm sorry, I love hermit crabs, but they are pretty yucky looking without a shell lol It was cool though. I think he was sad because once he was in his old shell he kept sticking his limbs back into the shell he had picked before and just kind of sat there like that. I wonder if he didn't really fit and he was too fat for it.....I may have an anorexic crab in the future lol

Lol Reese does that too. Yet he always goes back to his old shell. He has even went as far as moving into a shell way to big while wearing his old shell lol. This boy is nuts. I should make a page titled "The Crazy Antics of Sir Reese" omgosh. His new act of craziness is using his bubble tube as a slide and using the top of the pen as a bat hang. He runs around upside down for hours then hops on the tubing and slides down it like a kid on the stairs banister. Even Herc thinks he is crazy lol. Herc's new shell finally came ugh am I bad at buying these online lol. It is way to big of course. The girl said 2in but didn't say that the opening was 2in alone. Reese will probably claim this as a hut again lol. The search for Herc's shell continues ><. There is a good 6 he "could" move into in there but he just will not he don't like them. Reese has tried every last one of them on to even the ones he gets lost in lol. I have about 3 jumbo shells atm with no jumbo crab lol. Oh well they will use it one day. I think I will end up having a growth boom once they hit the new pen. Cid is still missing and Bat Girl has joined him. I don't see Hearts much either so Idk if the girls are now molting with Cid or not. Herc is always out and on top he will be my last to molt if he even does before we leave. His spot seems to stay around the water bowls other than walking around he doesn't stray far from his fav spot. He likes to watch us lol tho idk why. He seems fascinated when we are packing stuff up lol esp by the kids. He watches my son "cooking" all the time. It is funny how he enjoys watching us almost as much as us to them. He fell asleep in the water bowl last night lol until Reese came a splashing past him then a chase ensued rofl. It was funny he caught Reese tucked Reese under him then went back to sleep on top of Reese rofl. Reese just sat there all mad before he fell asleep himself lol. There is no moving Herc at Reese's size lol I think this was his way of giving a time out :hlol: . My crabs are just plain crazy! If I didn't know Reese was a PP from all his antics I'd swear he was an E from all the craziness that I hear about them lol.

Haha wow that is awesome! I have one jumbo shell but Rocky doesn't seem interested to move yet. I'll see what the measurements are, maybe they would be good for Herc. I'll post a pic. That's why I don't order mine online because I would absolutely by the wrong size and I would be so mad lol I hope that my crabs become crazy, I wouldn't want to move from my living room so I could watch them. Aww that stinks that they are all hidden, that's the worse part is having to wait for them to come back out. How do you know if a crab is sleeping? I have always wondered that.I hope I have a Reese some day!

For Herc I know when he is out lol. HE pulls the shell over his eyes only and just camps there. Never moves his feelers or anything n man may a higher power help you if you wake that boy lol. He will chase you down n hold you down for disrupting his nap lol. He has really only had to do this with Reese aka Mr. hyper. He just chases the girls away from him until he is ready to wake up lol. He is usually more forgiving if it is a girl tho esp if it is Bat Girl he gets all flirty with her. Its funny Reese manages to out hyper everyone atm so they mostly avoid him. Herc and him are always out so Herc gets the blunt of the abuse and deals with it accordingly. Herc gets up and stomps his feet (warning 1) Herc stands and stares at Reese while waving his claws crazily (warning 2) by 3 if Reese still has not listened its on lol. Herc races after him then sits on him and holds him there captive until he calms down lol. This usually ends up being nap time since Reese can not get out from under him lol. Once Herc wakes up he lets Reese go and all is good. These two really are an odd couple lol.

Haha wow you're crabs are great! So entertaining! Oh okay then I have seen my crabs sleep before but they only do it in their hiding places. I think B.J. is going to be my crazy one soon. Since he's molted he runs everywhere now and he now challenges me when I put my fingers up to him. Instead of cowering into his shell he stands his ground and runs his feelers over my fingers and then just climbs over them. None of my other crabs will even dare to do that, they just hide in their shells. Poor kids, I haven't properly bonded with them yet so they are still hesitant. I tried making them a ghetto climb set up in their tank last night because I felt bad they don't have much to climb on. Now it looks like a ghetto crabbie fun zone haha
