OMG, I want it! *grabby hands* Your can is going to have a ball in there, I think you might need some more hermies in there so it not so big... ;) You're going to have some serious harding issues with hermies, it won't be enough!

Quick question, how many watts of heat in total do u think i would need? Are the 300 watt bulbs at home depot safe?

I'm not sure on that specific question, but here's an awesome thread if you haven't seen it on custom huge wooden tanks:

The problem with heating vertical spaces is that heat always rises and cold air always sinks. So if you're heating from the top, only the top is going to stay warm. :? That 300 Watt bulb might raise the top of the tank to 100 degrees while at surface level it's only room temp.

The computer fan i used doesn't seem strong enough to do anything with heat. I try to use it to distribute humidity, but conditions do not appear to fluctuate in the air path of the fan. I think the CFM number is 30 but it definitely feels like less.
I suspect that instead of working like a convection oven, it will evenly cool your tank instead of heating, as the fan is not the originator of heat, your warm air will cool as it moves.

ImageI ran into a problem. Everything is done, but after having sand in the tank for awhile it sprung a leak and water started coming out. I guess I didn't have enough resin on the bottom edges and corners or the weight of the sand caused the plywood to bow out a bit and crack the resin. I don't want to have to put more resin in again since it took forever for the smell to go away the first time around. Could I use the LeakSeal rubber spray to patch things up?
