Hermit crab water question
Hermit crab water question
I've read a few places that hermit crabs do not require sponges to drink water, can anyone confirm that? And if not would spagnum moss soaked in water work as a could substitute?
Re: Hermit crab water question
Sponges are not required. Crabs drink straight from dishes of water, but it is best to offer deep pools of water the crabs can submerge in. A deep pool of water is required for crabs to regulate shell water and bathe in.

Yes, I agree with YYWW, but make sure the crabs are able to get in and out of the bowl, maybe push it down in the sand or put something next to it so they can climb in and out.

O yes, access is very important! Make sure your largest can submerge and your smallest can escape.
