I'd actually like to have some digging crabs, one of them digs little craters sometimes, but that's about it unless they are going to molt.

So I have 9, 6 PP's and 3 E's. Only 5 are out and about and every last one of them is a hide'r.

They are all like "%#$# - there's that chick again at 3 am check and here I am out in the open. RUN FOREST RUN!!!!"

Good news is that the first thing I saw was one of the new guys painted shell in the middle of a pile of shells I had put in the middle of the tank just to tempt the two new ones out of their painted shells. I grabbed it an ran. RUN MOM RUN. I figure if another crab can steal a shell so can I.

Bad new is before I went back to bed, I think I interrupted the other new guy shell shopping. CRAP. It was hysterical. The smallest of my crabs, Rose, was like "time to duck in my shell". Pele (named for his soccer themed shell) 5 times Roses size but her new buddy none the less, was like....."OMG OMG OMG RUNNNNNNN.....". He ran so fast he did a belly flop right into the reg distilled water bowl. He was like...."Dang, where did that come from. OMG OMG RUN" He ran down the edge of the tank knocking over my leaf bowl and one hemmie hut and hid behind the other. Mind you....He's still visible. But I can hear him thinking... "She can't see me, she can't see me, she can't see me"

I bust out laughing :hlol: :hlol: :hlol: :hlol: :hlol:

That's hilarious!! I cracked up, and my husband even thought it was funny. ;)

My crabs went dig-crazy last night again. Mario finally buried, hopefully to destress/molt since I've had him a couple weeks and he didn't seem interested in doing much more than stuffing his face and changing shells. Legolas is up - I hadn't seen him since early November, and I can't tell if he molted again or not. He's pretty small so I guess it's possible. He's the kind that won't stay tucked in his shell when I handle him, so I couldn't examine his toenails because he was was like "AHH PUT ME DOWN MUST RUNNNNN!"

Last night my two Es were under this rock cave thing. Winston decides to try to get a piggy back ride from the other E. Well Tags didn't like thit idea. He started to shake in an attempt to get Winston off . This didn't work so he went onto the next move, chirping! Then they just parted ways

They had a party and I wasn't invited =D. Woke up today, everything was overturned, they had even gotten their water bowls tipped over. They overpowered zip ties! And they left me to clean it up! You would have thought that since I am so nice to them that they would invite me, but no...:)

Haha in the words of Stephanie Tanner, how rude! Sounds like they're enjoying themselves! What did you have ziptied that they overpowered?? My crabs have never done that lol.

Water bowl tipping is definitely on my guys' Hermie Olympic Program. Felix is so good at doing it all by himself that I'm sure he's earned several medals in the event  .

My crabs are all down, probably molting since it's been suspiciously quiet for about 10 days. Although, I heard some digging this morning, so I may catch one up soon. Mine are all smalls, though they won't be at this rate. My Es are down for the second time and my PP finally went down for "her" first. (I had 2 PPs but one is no more and I really suspect Buzz...trying to adopt another PP to keep it company.)
Crabby Mommy since 8/13/14
2Es Buzz and Bullseye and 3PPs Woody (adp 12/10/14), Jessie (adp 1/20/15) and Mick (1/26/15)
Coming in March: Rex (PP) and Bo Peep (E)

Does anyone else have weird crabs who sleep in strange positions? 9 times out of 10, when I check on the crabs Biggie is rocked back on his "butt", tucked in his shell and just chilling out. He's done that ever since I got him.

I have a small dish with teeny shells for my smallest crab, and last night I rinsed them all off since they were pretty sandy. I woke up today and there were 2 new holes right by the dish, and the shells were once again covered in sand. I give up!

I feel your pain. It's pretty much every time I wash out all the shells and put them back in that some one is maniacally laughing in the corner plotting sand attacks. "I'll teach her a lesson... No one reaches in my tank without food!"

It's so strange how much action my tank has right now. I have 10 crabs (9 up and running) and I feel like some one is always out. Mostly it's my big indo. Who was Poseidon but I renamed Calypso do to a gender discovery... Lol

I have one smaller crab who went down about 4 weeks ago who I'm starting to get very worried about Image he's a smaller crab so I was kinda hoping he would come up sooner rather than later. I'm hoping I see him soon before I really start to worry...
All kinds of crabby!

Try not to worry! Sometimes they just enjoy terrifying us mine at every age ( I got him as a small ) loved digging. You just get used to the worry after awhile. I still have nightmares when he's under for months...

He's been under since the 20th of October and I miss him terribly.
