Fluker's Groovy Jacuzzi pools are 50% at petsmart!
I got it in store today and its was in the back on an end cap - so I dont think its black friday related
Got the large for 10$!
Its a natural looking pool that buries in the substrate but also has steps and low edge for wee little crabs!
Sooo excited. I have wanted one of these since I started crabbing but they're so stupidly over priced!

Um... has anyone had one more than a year that didn't leak?

I remember there being topic after topic of people's jacuzzi's leaking and causing floods. It was actually kind of funny - I adopted 4 crabs from a guy who had an awesome set up and he donated everything he had along with them. He gets out this tub of old parts and goes, "This is a Groovy Jacuzzi" and I finished with "and it leaked right after you got it" and he was rather taken aback that other's had had the same problem. He used it for a moss pit instead until they got too big for it.
I really like Fluker's stuff in general, but I think it's the type of epoxy resin they use for the jacuzzi's because it's too thin and it's too full of holes, so after a short duration of use the water clears out enough of the holes to be able to drain out the bottom. They may have fixed that issue by now. All it would take is a thin inner coating of epoxy to keep the water from getting through in the first place.

Well after installing the pool last night, I woke up and it was bone try this morning. Not even a little in the bottom meaning it all leaked. The floor under it isnt flooded or anything I would consider over saturated. But with there being not even a little water left behind, I cant imagne it was the crabs that used it all. Sighm not to decide if it comes the food bowl or it goes back to the store

So, they haven't fixed the problem. Sorry that it's a dud. Did you check it well for damage, like hairline cracks? It might have been dropped and they decided to put it on sale instead of chucking it. I couldn't figure out why my favorite micro's bowl kept draining, and after about a week I found this barely visible crack straight across the middle. I think it might have happened when it was mailed, because I was super careful with it and I hadn't had it that long.

I bought one of these about three months ago, and I haven't had any troubles. As far as I know, there has been no leaking, and my crabs love it! I would check the return policy, and buy the pool. If it leaks, return it, if they allow you. But like I said, I have had only good experiences with my Fluker's Groovy Jacuzzi pool.

I havnt had a chance to give it a good look becfore running to work this morning. I did notice a lot of substrate in the bowl, and maybe that could have absorbed all the water - what was left? Idk. Wheni get home o plan to put it in the sink and fill it - see what happens.
Doea anyone know petsmart return policy? I did an email receipt and never got it?

Check your spam or filtered emails for the e-recipt. If you cant return it you might explore the idea of patching it. It seems like a great find if working properly.

For sure check it over when you can but this may have been all or most of the problem. If the crabs dig up sub and it gets in or close to the water's edge, it will wick the water out. This is one reason I pulled my pools up out of the substrate.Knibitz wrote: I did notice a lot of substrate in the bowl, and maybe that could have absorbed all the water - what was left?

I've had mine almost a year and it's never "leaked" per se. The only problem I have with it, is the crabs drying it out when they get the coconut substrate in it. I also do not have the Fluker's brand one, but the All Living Things one. PetSmart can look up your receipt as long as you go to the original store to return it. I work at one and we do this all the time:p

So its been in my sink for about 4 hours. No leaking yet! Still full to the brim! (Its sitting in a rubbermaid with some moss in it to hold it upright)
There was probably a quarter cup or so of ee that I scooped out.
Im guessingit was just a combo of some late night baths and shell refills with the last of It being soaked up by the ee.
Going to leave it overnight, just to be sure though.

Re: Fluker's Groovy Jacuzzi pools are 50% at petsmart!
I havent had a nice big super deep easy entry pool with a textured bottom before, so I wonder if they're using it more because its easy to get get into and out of and a bit deeper?
ETA
woke up this afternoon (had to do some work in the wee hours of the morning so I get a half day in the office - woot!) so it's been about 24 hours since I left the thing with water in it and no leaking so I'm going to say - safe to assume it was a combo of shell refills, splashing about, and some of the EE wicking it away.
I plan to reinstall it tonight and keep an eye on the substrate around it over the next few days. If it starts becoming more saturated than usually, I'll remove it
I am considering, however, when I get my tank upgrade, to build a spray foam mountain to set it in with some kind of reservoir under-neither to catch any leaks that I could push a dish under, fill with moss that I could periodically dry out, etc.
