Hot glue should be fine and shouldn't harm the crabs if they pick on it. In fact, I was planning to do some hot-gluing this week to create a few crabitat items myself. I've used hot glue for many, many things in my mouse tank and it's safe for the mice in case they ingest any.

hot glue/super glue is safe to use, it will just break apart under the humidity. :) That is why we suggest silicone sealant.

Yep, safe. It just doesn't hold up for long in the heat and humidity.

Super glue lasts forever in a crab tank, but it may take a few days for the fumes to completely dissipate before it's safe to put in the tank. It's kind of funny, you can use it underwater and the water is completely safe to use immediately, but the airborne chemicals would most likely harm the gills of the crabs.

This is good to know! I'm a mess when it comes to super glue so I usually avoid it but I'm going to keep this in mind. :D

Thank you guys this is perfect, i am trying to rearrange my shell shop so that I can make a moss pit with the moss i collected that is still sitting in a plastic bag without having to buy another shower caddy.
