My mom saw 2 crabs that were in desperate need of good care and brought them to me. the big guy took offense to me trying to get a picture of him in my palm when he changed out of his painted shell.

Ow!


He's too cute to be angry with though.

He changed 5 times that I know of while in the KK with shells and food. I wanted him out of the painted shell and comfy in a new one before putting him in the big tank. He went in right before I took my kids upstairs for the night. I look forward to peeking at him later. The smaller guy is in the big tank too but he didn't change before I put him in. He seemed stressed so I put him in before a change.

Ouch! That looks painful! I love that your mom randomly brings home crabs for you... now if I could just train my husband... lol.

I keep going back to the spot where I found it, so I can try to
catch it again, and it just keeps getting away from me.

She is responsible for a lot of my crabby clan. My husband is over it. Lol when I tell him mom is stopping by to give me a new crab he just starts swearing. Yeah...they despise each other.

I found an empty painted orange shell in the tank this morning. I don't know what he changed into but I am thrilled he is out of that painted nightmare. I pulled it right out of the tank as soon as I saw it. Yay! No painted shells again.

Hahaha! My husband and mother definitely have their moments. I'm lucky because they normally get along so well (they even gang up on me lol). When it comes to the crabs they totally agree, they bring home lots of crab friendly foods... Just never any crabs. And yay for no painted shells! Those things are a total eye sore!!

I've been so darn busy with my new dog that the crabs are a little neglected. They've been getting food and fresh water, of course, but I haven't done much fiddling with the layout/tank maintenance like I usually do. They probably appreciate it. I don't understand how between 23 crabs and 2 tanks, I have like...6 that are up.


I caught Phyl munching on the new cork round yesterday. When she saw me she froze until I took a pic, then went right back to eating. I guess their dinner buffet wasn't good enough, haha.

I think this weekend I'm going to take everything out of the 55 and do some rearranging. Plus I desperately need to smooth the sand since there are craters and piles of sand everywhere.

I have a medium-large sized crab named strawberry (not actually a straw) that digs up the tank every dang day. the whole thing left a total mess... food bowls in craters or filled 2 inches high with dirt, hides filled with dirt, water dishes fill with dirt... everything filled with dirt D: it's all in great fun for him/her I suppose, so at least they're happy :)

My crab Poseidon is a known tank wrecker. Today their tank was destroyed. I was busy and they did it to themselves so too bad for them. lol
