Question on molting

Post by KelseyDanger » Sat Apr 25, 2015 5:06 pm

Hello! I am a new crab owner and I have a question about molting.

I woke up this morning to find my smallest crab missing, but noticed a large hole in my substrate. I assume he dug underground.

My question is do crabs bring there shells under when they molt as well? Because his shell seems to be missing too.

I welcome any tips or advice! Thanks!

Yes. They do not leave their shells to molt. His behavior sounds very normal. :) Here's a thread with more info on molting: http://hermitcrabassociation.com/phpBB/ ... 23&t=92527.
