Really you should leave him in the dark without disturbing him for at least a week. The egg shell and dry foods can stay in there probably the whole time. If he's still alive in a week he has a good chance. I kept mine in isolation an extra week after that first week and loaded him up with calcium/protein/honey. He ended up losing 2 legs but is fine otherwise and has adapted to walking with 2 legs and his pincers.
