Where to order good hermie food
Ive been looking to order some good food mixes for my hermit crabs, and I was looking at the HCP but I am open to suggestions, and what to order from companies. So, what stores are good, and what do your crabs devour?

Things from THCP that my crew have liked: surf n turf, FMR fruit treat (not the food, only the treat), the soil supplement, and the mineral blend.
Alaska hermit has good things too. (are they still open?? Its been a while). Moose poop was a big hit.

Thank you for the suggestions! I just put everything into my cart from THCP and the shipping is $10! I think I might just look on etsy and amazon for now.. I don't have that kind of money right now to spend over $50 on hermit crab food.

You might look on eBay as well. I just won a sample batch of like 80 baggies of all sorts of stuff for $12 and the shipping was free. It has a great variety and will last me quite a while.

Definitely understand that. I order the supplements now and then but for a while now the majority of my crab food is stuff that I've dried or froze or have fresh. No need to buy fancy mixes.LittleCrabby12712 wrote:Thank you for the suggestions! I just put everything into my cart from THCP and the shipping is $10! As @CallaLily said, using "human" food is the most economical way to go as hermit crabs can eat almost everything we do (check the Safe and Unsafe lists). It's also easy to make your own base dry mix by pulverizing freeze-dried insects and shrimp, egg shells and whole-grain hot cereal.
If you're looking for more exotic fare (and cheaper shipping than THCP), two HCA members have shops with very good prices/shipping charges. My crabs love Alaska Hermit Crab products (yes, CallaLily, Shadoe's shop is still open & I just got confirmation my latest order is on its way) and the ebay shop HugsforHermits also has very nice and tasty items. From AHC, the crabs like the various packets of leaves and dried flowers and I added some sheep poop to my latest order (shipping is a flat $4.95). From HFH, the 10 and 12-pack assortments (seaweed, worm castings, dried leaves, veggies and homemade protein biscuits) are excellent and inexpensive (around $8 with free shipping).

That's good to know! My crabs loved just about everything I had ordered from her.Crabinski wrote: (yes, CallaLily, Shadoe's shop is still open & I just got confirmation my latest order is on its way)

Re: Where to order good hermie food
I might order from hugs for hermits off of eBay. I also found some cholla wood for cheap on eBay, I may have to try, thanks all! I normally try to feed them human foods, but I saw that THCP has bulk of the FMR fruit treat, and my crabs go nuts for that, but they'll have to wait till I can save up enough money to make it worth ordering. I'm leaving for college in August and I need to save, I just thought that if I could order mixes my family would know what to feed them while I'm gone :/

I ordered a pack of four baggies of food from TheHappyHermitSupply on Etsy for around $6. She ended up giving me a free back of crushed eggshells as well. They last a long time and the owner is super sweet. We have nearly 200 messages between us.
