I am so freaking happy right now.
My little one Ender just came up from her first molt! And better news, she regrew her missing leg!
My first ever molt, and my little girl made it
I have tears in my eyes I'm so happy and relieved
She had been down for, what, a month or two? And she's barely half the size of Ark
Even with her missing leg I didn't think it'd take that long
But she's up and 'chatting' with Ark! She's even less shy. I stuck my hand in there to get a picture, and she barely scooted into her shell. She just wiggled her feelers even more!
Just -Squee-
And apparently she isn't more socialable to others
I showed my grandma while they were 'talking'
And as soon as she started talking
Ender 'noped' right underneath one of the little cup-huts

I think she's smaller than before. A bit odd considering she's already a little thing compared to Ark, but I like her new color. She's more colorful than before~aussieJJDude wrote:Aww; she look all cute and stuff! Beautiful crabbies you have there!

Re: First Molt!
She will probably "plump up" in the next few days as she rehydrates and whatnot. Just a weird thing they do.

Yay! Successful molt with regrowth = always very good news . Ditto what KellyCrabbieLove said: sometimes a newly-molted crab will be a little smaller until they "fatten up" but, as Ender expended extra energy to regrow her leg, she may not have grown any larger this time around.

I'm still surprised at how long it took.. I guess half the time she was just relaxing and resting considering I'm fairly certain it was either from a fight, or stress, at the petstore where it must have happened. I'm just glad she's okay.. Even if now she's digging around randomly after my grandma scared her underneath the cup
I'm curious.. I wonder if Ender is simply used to my voice, and that's why I didn't scare her? I always talk to them at least once a day, even if it's just a 'hey guys' or 'here you go', and my little cousin and little brother tend to beg to see them daily too. She really didn't seem to mind when I stuck my hand right near her and Ark, just shrunk back a little and wiggled her feelers a lot more.
