The Mother-in-Law

Post by Guest » Mon Sep 12, 2005 2:10 pm

My mother-in-law came over this evening and we were having a nice conversation about life and she asks me "Why do you have those crabs?" I say "At first, for the boys, but they don't really like them but I really do." She says back to me " Maybe they will die soon and you will just be done with them." Maybe she will die soon and I will be done with her. The women is evil!!! Thanks to anyone listening to me vent.

quote:Maybe she will die soon and I will be done with her. The women is evil!!! That made me laugh so hard, as awful as it sounds lol. You sound like me when I'm mad at stuff! But seriously, aren't people just awful when it comes to these little critters? That's a really mean thing to say, I've never heard anything like that before. I guess Mother-In-Laws can be real mean sometime can't they lol. I'm only 18, so I wouldn't know yet, but I'm not sure I look forward to it lol.

My MIL isn't fond of them enough to hold them, but she says she loves our crabitat and feigns interest enough to go in my son's room and see what they're up to. Also she offered to take care of them (along with all the other pets) when we go on vacation. She's a gem.

My MIL moved in with us because she couldn't live be herself so she says. She hated the crabs and thought I would get rid of them but instead I got more. She keeps her mouth shut now because I had to tell her it's my house and if she doesn't like them she can move. She now says she likes them but wishes they were more active in the daytime. Crabs are smart, they come out after she goes to bed. hehe

That is hilarious! My MIL has said some doozies to me before, but nothing about the crabs. She can't be bothered to come see us, so I don't think she even knows we have them. When I was pregnant for the 3rd time, and we were pitifully broke (as usual), and we were not exactly thrilled at the timing of the pregnancy, she popped off with a "You do know how babies are made, don't you?" in a VERY nasty voice. I didn't talk to her for months after that. She is just kind of snobby and judgemental. My own Mom, on the other hand, is off the richtor scale! So, actually my husband has a lot more to complain about.
