Can Hermies catch cold?
A cold is a virus and I'm not sure if they can catch one. I have a pretty nasty one and so I'm hesitant to handle my crabs, luckily my mom will change food and stuff for me. So does anyone know if they can catch one?

I don't think human diseases and viruses can be transfered to crabs, and vice versa.

Yes, KC is right. Human diseases are different from crustacean ones, and our immune systems, as well as other systems in the body, are different and work in different ways. No need to worry. Here's an example:Rabies can be passed from human to animal (usually a mammal) because the rabies have certain needs to reproduce and cause the disease. The disease has some puncturing "arms" that attach themselves to a blood cell. The "arms" have to have a similiar pattern for it to be able to puncture both human and animal cells. In colds, the "arms" of the germ are shaped as only for humans, not animals. Hope I helped. (and if you understood a word I said )
