Very pale crab, dug up by his brother
1) How long have you had your crabs and how long have you been caring for this particular crab in distress?I've had the crabs since around the 16th of February. Got this one a week later.2) What size is your tank and what kind of lid do you have? 10 gallon, plexiglass lid underneath an aquarium lid with enough space to let the air circulate3) What are you using for heat? Please be specific and include fixture type, watt or mat size and where the heat source is mounted.Meduim size heat mat attached to the back of the aquarium4) What kind of substrate do you use in your tank and at what depth? Is it dry or damp and sand castle consistency?Eco earth, very damp, about six inches of substrate5) Do you dechlorinate your fresh water and if so, with what product? Do you offer aquarium salt water in addition to fresh water? Again, what product?Aquarium salt to dechlorinate the water. All Living Things Freshwater Conditioner is used to condition the water.6) What do you normally feed your crabs?A variety of things, lately peanut butter, freeze dried shrimp, blueberries and bananas. (It should be noted that I haven't seen this guy eating since I received him, and the pet store I got him from didn't take care of them at all.)7) Do you bathe, mist or handle your crabs at all?I handle them, occasionally mist them when the humidity starts to lower. What are the temperature and humidity readings? Please be specific and include high low fluctuations if you're aware of them.Humidity is at about 65% (I was just fussing about the crabitat with the lid off, grabbing a coconut hut for the little guy and some food. Normally it's at almost 80%) Temperature is 75%.I bought this crab from a pet store that wasn't treating their animals well at all. The poor things were sitting on gravel, and I couldn't see any food or water to speak of. When I brought him home he immediately buried himself under the substrate. He came up a couple of times in the first two days, but then he dug himself down for a while. I was worried about the other two crabs because they were a lot bigger, but they left him alone. Every time he came up I made sure to handle him a little bit and he was the sweetest thing. He buried himself back down around the 26th of February, and he hasn't been seen since, and I wasn't too concerned. This morning I came downstairs to find out that the biggest guy had dug him up. He walks around just fine, but is very jumpy, he'll jump at every little noise. He also pinched pretty hard, which is unlike him. I'm most concerned because he's REALLY pale, and it seems like there's skin coming off of him. If he was molting I'd assume he'd move around less than he is.I have him separated, should I put him back and hope the big guy leaves him alone or should I put him in the ISO tank? Is there anything I can do to stop a mean crab, he's pushed the other one but he was bigger so I was less concerned.

so ill sart off saying you set up sounds pretty good!!!with that said i would not handle them any more for about a month or so, just to give them time to destress, the more you handle a new crab the more stressed he will get. do you have an ISO tank??if not thats ok, what you should do is get a big bottle of soda and (empty is and wash is really good ) and cut the top and bottems off and put this areound you lil crab so he wont be dug back up or bothered by the other crabs. put in some water and some food and give your other crabs some shrimp...by the sound of it your lil guy is about to molt and this can take some time 2-8 weeks you want to keep him in a warm and dark place, and just give him time.

Yup, I have an ISO tank that I'm working on getting set up right now. They did have some freeze dried shrimp about two days ago, I'll throw some more in as soon as I've finished up with the little guy. Thanks for the advice!
