So really? Any one besides me really give a whoot n nanny over all this? I'm so sick of my Facebook pace being taken over by this. He is getting flack cause he is celebrity plain and simple,people are mad cause they love the show. Ok so write the show, blowing up the Facebook page isn't helping , do you think a&e cares you blew up the Facebook page? No... I counted in 8 hour span 29 post and if I remember right most of them were the same and were back to back. If any average Joe would of made a statement or said what he said it would of been what? Did he say what I think he said? Shame on him.. life moves on..but since he is celebrity we have to make as huge big deal out of it. Every one has a right to say what they want right? Isn't that freedom of speech?

I couldn't agree more. He really didn't say anything all that offensive, in my opinion, but he is getting all of this attention for it because he is famous. He was clearly just stating his opinion, and specifically said that he wouldn't treat anyone bad just because they were different from him. He was just voicing his beliefs. What did they expect him to say? They asked him directly about his beliefs, knowing how deeply religious he is. I'm not really concerned about what he said at all, Im bothered by the fact that people are trying to intrude on his right to "freedom of speech" and "freedom of religion". I've never watched the show itself, just heard the story, but his beliefs should be no more or less important than the beliefs of any of us non famous people. The entire family has decided to support him and their beliefs as well by quitting the show entirely. I think they made the right decision.

I fully back Phil and the other members of the Robertson family and not because he's famous but because this sets a precedence for our First Amendment rights which basically says "We can take this right away if you say anything that we don't agree with" in reference to A&E and that flies in the face of our Constitution and our Bill of Rights and so if someone who is famous can have these inalienable rights taken away then how much easier will it be for it to happen to us the common people.????This is not a simple issue of Freedom of Religion it has gone so far past that to a much bigger issue which is the protection of our First Amendment Rights as a whole that if the point isn't made right now later may be too late.

Understandable There are a few forums I visit that would have deleted this thread by now. But I think its ok as long as it doesn't get out of hand.I fully support Phil for standing up for his beliefs and his right to freedom of speech, not just because he is a celebrity.I have heard that Glenn Beck offered Ducky Dynasty a spot on his network if they leave A&E. I wonder if they will take it or just choose to stay out of the spotlight. From what I understand, Phil didn't want anything to do with the show in the first place.

Honestly as much as I watch the show and really enjoy it I think they would be better off not doing anymore shows. You can only do so many before they become same ole, same ole and you fall from the spotlight anyway. I think the only members who were truly interested in doing the show were Willy and the high maintenance females for the money. However I will still watch them if they do cuz I'm not tired of it yet just the ridiculous cheezy products they keep putting on the market.(The bobble heads and such.) By the way agreed with everything stated so far. Maybe switching companies would actually reinvent the new and they would still have a few more years. Who knows For any of you that watched the show with Sadie going to prom. She and a designer came out with some Willy approved dresses and I was disappointed in that cuz they were no better than the ones he wouldn't let her wear to prom. They were just as short and showy as all the rest of the prom dresses nowadays. What's this world coming too?

Nope don't want this out of control either just stating that facebook isn't the place to take it. If you support what ever then make one post then leave it alone or take else where. Not blow up my Facebook page with the same junk over and over by the same people. I'm all for freedom of speech, freedom to have what ever religions you want, I am the most laid back person there is.. I have *** people in my family, I have *** friends, so no I do not judge anyone, you live your life the way you choose. I don't care. Some one said on face book they can post what they want on face book, true but they need to remember it does go on their friends and maybe that friend doesn't care to see 50+ duck dynasty post. I spent over a 1/2 hour today hiding post from that stuff.

There really was no answer he could have given that wouldn't catch a lot of complaints, if he would have said it's fine (which according to his and my beliefs it is not) everyone would call him a hypocrite for not following what the Bible says.I hate when people bait famous Christians with questions like that, they know what the answer will be, but ask anyway just to try to turn people against them.

@noswad, the real kicker here is, is that A&E basically owned/own Phil and the others who are regulars on the show and since their contracts obligate them to show up for things that the network want them to do he was essentaily told that he had to do the interview with GQ whether he wanted to or not.The reporter from GQ was given a strict list of questions pre-approved by the network that he could ask Phil so technically Phil was setup by the network because the CEO did/does not like him or his family they wanted to put him in a position that would give the CEO the chance to come in and can him so basically the whole thing was an elaborate ruse to fire Phil.Based on what I've read and been told the Robertson family has grounds for a huge lawsuit against the CEO and the network for setting him up and then infringing upon his bill of rights.When season two rolled around Willie ended up renegotiating the deal he'd originally gotten with A&E for antoher two seasons and the price per episode nearly doubled as a result of the new deal but the network and the CEO did not want to do the deal as they were reported to say that the show was not a good fit for the network because the family had already had problems with the network fake censoring the show to make it seem like the family cursed which they do not and Willie was quick to stop that which put a bad taste in the network and CEO's mouth for the whole family.It's been one thing after another with A&E trying to do something to make the family seem less wholesome than they really are and simply to goose the ratings...

I can't believe they stayed with A&E instead of going to a different network or like I said before just staying out of the spotlight. I know a lot of whats filmed is just a put on anyway, but most the time it makes for a good show. Its just so hard to stay true to yourself and your beliefs with trying to do a show like that.

@Crabber, I know, it's sad that someone would to that to such a good person.Another problem I hear they had was taking the "In Jesus' name, Amen" part out of the prayers, and a few days ago they actually took the whole prayer scene out of the shows.

If they remain on the show, they should just sit around quietly watching tv while the camera crews are around. Let A&E air that and see how their rating suffer all the while having to pay the Robertson family to do so.
