A year of probation, even though the officer knew he was kidding? Sheesh, bored was he?

seemed like it. if he's that bored he should do a drug raid with dogs in our school, bust kids who actually deserve it.i think a stern warning would have been sufficient, even just walking him to the poilice car and giving him a lecture about what could happen. the officer in question is a little ridiculous, he's given another friend of mine a parking ticket to teah him a lesson as well, even though he had no idea he was not allowed to park and step out of his car in a certain area.

Ah, a bored beaurocratic rent-a-cop. Sorry, I probably shouldn't say that-I've never met him. It just strikes me odd that he feels that the petty arrests/tickets are the most efficient use of his time.

No, the cops in our area do that sort of thing all the time. Why not make an example of some kid who they KNOW isn't going to pull a gun or a knife on them, instead of trying to deal with a kid who's proven himself to be a danger? They're not going to put their lives on the line if they don't have to.

The cop on our campus is the opposite. He won't make an example of anyone...even when he should. When I was student teaching, a student was busted drinking out of a flask. The officer turned the flask over, a few drops fell out. He said there was no point in arresting him because there was no evidence. Well, who's the idiot that turned it over? What about the alcoholic smell? What about the fact that flasks aren't allowed at school and are considered contraband under the classification of alcoholic paraphernalia? There was a lot of commotion over that and that was two years ago. We still have the same cop and he's not anymore efficient. I had to report a child abuse case this year and he didn't even want to call CPS. He said that they would just send her home anyway (the counselor waited until the end of the day to act on the info I reported in the morning) so they should just wait until morning. Well, today the kid I have been having troubles with said that he carries a butterfly knife because his switchblade had already been confiscated. Hmmm...I am so tired of this. I can't believe he gets away with this stuff. I felt like an idiot writing him up because I know I will end up getting in trouble and nothing will happen to him. But I'm going to follow the rules no matter what.The thing that really irks me is that his AP is known to be the strict, by-the-book kinda guy. Why is he droppiung the ball on this kid...repeatedly? I fear tomorrow. But hey, then at least the week will be over. Next week, only four days and two of those are for finals.

That kid sounds really scary and disgusting. I'm surprized other students haven't tried to shut him up, he sounds like scum.

It would be hard for the students to stand up to this kid when they have seen him physically threaten a girl that stood up to him. Plus with the "authority" in the school being so lax, it gives the pretences that the faculty might be too hushed by his actions to stop him, so it would be twice as hard for a student.
