I hear you Dylan, punched up some pretty scary numbers for my 55 gallon. If I get it, it's going to be pretty bare for awhile.

gsgirl - if you are talking about the Hermit Crab Patch I highly recommend ordering from them. I've never had a problem with an order and I've placed plenty over the years. Can't speak for livehermitcrab.com, though. Doesn't sound like a place I would personally order from...

Please, for your own, sake order from THCP. I've had countless great orders from them. Livehermitcrabs customer service really doesn't even exist... So many unanswered e-mails.

The hermit crab patche's hermies are too expensive for me. I'm sorry but I can't pay $40 for a pp hermit crab, even if they are super reliable. I ordered my shells there, and they were great, but my live purchases are going to have to cone from livehermitcrabs.com. They don't sell exotics anyways at the hermit crab patch.

I didn't get the opinion that livehermitcrabs.com was cheaper than HCP. The overnight shipping is just as expensive, and livehermitcrabs.com essentially provides no warranty for its crabs, because if it arrives dead they make YOU pay for shipping for another one. HCP on the other hand will replace the crab at their expense, including shipping. I'm going on a hunt for E's tonight, and if I can't find them locally, I'm going with HCP.

I don't know. I can get 6E's from livehermicrabs.com for arond $80(includes shipping) and 4E's from THCP for around $115(includes shipping). Really, Livehermitcrabs.com doesn't have very good customer service, from what another member is experiencing. I would rather order from THCP because they are a better company, and more trusted. But if at all possible, I am going to stick with the petstores.

Just an update on my livehermitcrabs order... placed an order on the 6th of April. It is now May 26 and I have received a total of one reply to my 8 e-mails. A word to my fellow crab friends, LHC may be cheaper than THCP, but money isn't everything. I can't recommend avoiding transactions with this business enough. What a mistake..

I don't know, I want a viola, and that's the only place I'm going to get one. And a ruggie too. I'm not going to try strawberries yet, maybe in a year or so. And no indues, because I prefer sand

One problem, you might not ever actually get one from them. I'm tellin ya, it's just bad business. Just some food for thought from a severely disappointed customer. Take it or leave it..

crabteacher, finally got a response from them after two months of waiting. Heres the reply;Chris,You should have received a response from us on Monday May 16th. We apologize for the delay, but when importing it is out of our control. These crabs are being freshly picked and will be quarantined to ensure they are clean from mites. We understand the cost is expensive, and this is why we would rather have our supplier send us healthy crabs, but take longer. Thanks for your patience.Thank You,LiveHermitCrabs.comSo it appears they are a legit and caring business... with really bad customer service. Hopefully I'll finally get my strawberry in June! So i guess the moral of the story is have trust and lots of patience with this company, and you should get a top notch crabby!
