The LHC is the place I began my life on the internet and I'm very glad it was this place. I found a lot of boards later that are really bad, flaming galore, especially of newbies. Another thing I really like here: the posts are well written - I hate working my way through a maze of spelling errors that are made because the people just don't care and think it's just not necessary because "it's the internet, not school" Or people who refuse to capitalize their words (really important in German) because "well, most other languages don't" ... so why don't you go and join a board in one of those languages?!? Actually, I don't read such posts any more - gives me a headache. Thanks for letting me rant

I mean of all the things about the English language to complain about that's the one they've chosen?! How about all the grammar rules that aren't really rules? Or heck, look at the word 'grammar'. Why exactly is it an 'a' at the end, and not an 'e'? Or why aren't they interchangeable? Er...sorry. Went off on a tangent again. The capitalization (sheesh, had to spellcheck that word) thing seems like a pretty good one, actually, at least in English. It makes it easier for me to tell where the sentence is beginning and stuff. The again, it's strange what has to be capitalized. Like the pronoun "I". You don't capitalize 'you', unless it begins the sentence. And off I go on another tangent. Where's the topic............oh yeah. Flaming. Sorry. Right, well, LHC was the first board I ever posted on, and I've posted on few since then. Occasionally I post on a writer's board (mostly lurk, though. Fairly nice folks, but a little...intense sometimes) I post on a Dreamfall board occasionally, and that's really about it. I read other boards sometimes, but I don't post much. They just ain't as nice as here. Oh, and I'm an introvert and people scare me, especially when they're detached words. (ignore the post count....it's completely true) Anyways, flaming=bad.

I'd love to toss in my flame, er, I mean comment.All caps makes my head hurt. Can't and won't read them. Too many abbreviations and acronyms, ditto. If I could set up rules to filter them from posts, I'd be so happy!!I joined an ABC.com forum to chat Grey's Anatomy and the majority of people were nice but that handful that weren't took the fun out of it. I also noticed hardly anybody replied to newbies.I love you guys! This is home. I can always log in when I'm feeling down and log off feeling better.

I definitly have to agree about the family atmosphere at this site. We all share each others ups and downs, not only with hermits but with many other issues in our lives.

I really love this forum because although we are all obsessed were not like the expert terrifying animal breeder ppl or anything else.For example, there is a forum I am on for other critters and they have serious issues, if you so much as leave a period of the end of a sentance they like disown you. (and using i is not allowed, must be I). It is just so welcoming here. Thank you to everyone who contributes on this site, and especially to Christa.

I recently posted on the "All my Children" site...(i used to watch it when i had my son, but only get to watch it about once a month now)...anyway, i posted a question regarding one of the people on the show, and i got such sarcastic nasty responses...before i knew it they were ganging up on me!!...Yikes!!...apparently, because i dont tape the shows when i cant get to watch it, these people treated me like i was from another planet!!...geesh, they certainly give housewives a bad name!!...i felt like telling them to get a life!!

LOL jojoI was a member to a yahoo group for ferrets. Well I posted about my ferret and her biting. I said that I may have to get rid of her because of it. The owner of the group replied to me and said same very sarcastic things about me no taking the time and effort it takes to have a pet. And if I try to sell her then good luck because I am going to need it. I sent a not so pleasant reply and left the group. I didn't realize it was the owner until I got an email that said they was sorry I left the group and could I let them know why I was leaving. I was shocked that she was the owner. Needless to say I will stay right here where I feel welcome.Dawn

I like good punctuation also, but as all people I'm not perfect. I'm usually in a hurry when I'm typing, but I change my typos when I notice them. I hate when every single thing is in caps, but I use all caps in small amounts... Usually one to a few words. Oh yes and I use multiple periods sometimes. And I also agree with bubu and Froggz I do share alot more on this website than I do with anyone else, usually including my family. I just feel much more comfortable talking to you guys. And joj I know how you feel I went to a Passions website for Eric Martsoff(He's Ethan Crane for anyone who knows Passions) some of the poeeple on that forum were just so mean I never even posted. Asking why they got someone so ugly for his replacement when he goes on maternity leave. How rude is that? I haven't even seen his replacement yet, he comes in later this month for 4 days I think. But who are these people to judge his replacement? How rude.

KC, I meant German boards, we capitalize every noun. The weird thing is that I don't have any problems at all reading English texts with almost no capitalisation, but a German text without capitalisation becomes extremely hard to read. Probably just a question of habit, but I wondered about that before

Ah, well I spectacularly showed off my ignorance there. That makes sense though, more than English certainly, where you only capitalize some nouns. I want to take German someday, so I'll keep that rule in mind.

Can we pick a site to send the hermies on the attack to? My hermies are itchin' for pinchin' and I don't want to be the pinchee.Seriously though, I was so upset when I couldn't be on this site for a while. I missed the friendly atmosphere, the caring people & admins & the connections to others who share my obsession. I missed getting good advice for my problems & caring support for whatever my day brought me.I missed LHC and everyone on it.....and I'm going to try to never be away from here for too long again.Ok...before I get all misty I better go quell the uprising...."Hermies....everyone calm down....Pepper, don't you wave that claw at me....I am trying to find a site for you to attack....No pinching Mommy...Ouchie!"
