Tank Lid Clips

I have these clips that go on the tank lid to keep it in place, yet I haven't a CLUE how to put them on there! The instructions are terrible, or I just don't understand it one of the two lol. I don't have actual pictures of mine, but here's the product:http://www.petco.com/Shop/Product.aspx? ... k+clipsCan someone please tell me how to put these on? I have an attempted escape artist crawling around on the lid right now...

Tank Lid Clips

I'm guessing here, never saw them before and I'm only going by web pics which aren't very informative...See how they are V-shaped with a kitty corner roof on one end and a lip on each side of the V? What if you held them sideways, could you hook one lip on the frame of the screen cover, the other lip on the upper molding of your tank and put roof at the corner of your tank. This isn't a very good illustration but I don't think hubby would appreciate me illuminating the Living Room for a tank pic right now so I tried to do the next best thing. I colored in a clip on a camera box I have. Hope you can see what I mean: http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d14/d ... 0_1454.jpg One side is on the top, one side is on the front and I put the kitty corner above the K in Kodak! Can't see how it could be installed any other way because most tanks don't have side molding so it couldn't be mounted vertically.

Yeah, you want one lip of the V on your tank lid and one lip under the black plastic molding on the top of your tank... I have similar clips....

Is the top of your tank lid about an inch wide and fits over your tank, lid on the outside of tank? I clip the bent side of the clip under the edge of the trim along the top of the tank, then slip the flat side of the clip over the tank lid.

I read your instructions VERY carefully lol, and I thought I had it until it just popped off at me. Well I got mad and just smacked it on the lid, and it stayed where it was, so I tried lifting up the lid and it wouldn't lift...I looked at the clip and it's just sitting there, its not in anyway hooked to anything, but it keeps the lid from opening...Should I just throw things from now on and they'll magically work??

Nahhh probably not good to throw things, might put out an eye, OOPS sorry that's me being a parent . . Sometimes mine just slip on and other time they are hard to clip. I think it depends on how you shift the cover.Glad they seem to be working. Now the question is. . . can you get them off and back on?

Yep, like I said they're just sitting there, if you just touch them they'll fall off lol. But I don't think a hermie could open it, because it does stay in place unless you move the lid around. And I won't throw things anymore
